Please pray for relief of anxiety and worry, guidance and strength for Casey as she is the single parent of three beautiful girls entering adolesence and high school. Casey also requests prayer for the family's coping with divorce, and her concern that her daughter's experience a deep level of anger and behavioral changes.
Casey had also hoped to attend the walk this weekend, but feels this was not the most opportune time.

Koben was seriously injured Saturday night in the bullriding at mesquite pbr. he landed on the back of his neck and bull stepped on his back folding his back over his head. He was taken to Baylor Dallas.Koben is an 18yr old bullrider from out by lubbock i believe. He is paralysed right now from his neck down, only having feeling in his left arm.

Koben has fractured his C5 and C6 vertabrae and displaced another that has pressure on his spinal cord. They have him in a halo and are waiting on further tests to evaluate his condition. He has regained some movement in his left arm.

Koben will be having surgery Tuesday morning at 7:00 am to repair the fractured vertebrae and remove a bone fragment and hopefully relieve some pressure on his spinal cord.

Koben was supposed to have surgery today, but i found out they had to postpone the surgery. Koben has developed Phenumonia and has been put on a ventalator to help with his breathing.

this is very critical and lets please keep koben in all your prayers, he can really use them right now

On Saturday, August 9, 2008 Chrissy Bird's father, Todd Bird suffered a mild stroke and was admitted to Baylor hospital in Garland, TX for a week for observation and testing.  His blood pressure and blood sugar were both sky high, and his vision and balance were also skewed.

They also determined that he has a small hole in his heart, but were not able to provide a diffinitive answer as to whether the high sugar/blook pressure or the hole in the heart was the cause of the stroke.  However during his week-long stay at the hospital they were able to bring down both the blood pressure and the blood sugar.  And once he was able to get off the heart monitor, he was moved to another floor to begin rehabilitation therapy.

So on Saturday, August 16, 2008, with the help of Chrissy, and her brothers - Nick and Scott, Todd was able to come home.  They will be setting up outpatient therapy to get him fully mobile and independent again in the very near future.  They all very much appreciate your prayers and thoughts of encouragement and support.

In His Love,
Bridgit A. O'Rourke
